How does Formostar work?
The Formostar system relies on far infrared energy. After penetrating the skin, far infrared transforms from light energy into heat energy and elevates the temperature of fat-containing subcutaneous layers. The body’s absorption of this energy simulates a vigorous workout, burning between 900 and 1400 calories in a single hour-long session.
What parts of the body does Formostar target?
The Formostar system uses six high-density silicone treatment pads that can be used on many different areas. On women, these include the thighs, hips, abdomen and upper arms. And on men, they include the thighs, abdomen, chest, shoulders and calves. Each silicone pad comes with its own temperature control system so heat levels can be adjusted according to a client’s preference.
How long does a Formostar session last?
A typical session runs about 60 minutes. The Formostar machine needs about 10 minutes to warm up. After you wrap the client, he or she can expect the pads to stay on for 50 minutes.
How often can a salon client repeat Formostar treatments?
This will depend on how active that person is. If the person engages in a regular exercise regimen of walking, jogging or working out, then Formostar treatments can be as often as every two days.
If the client has a more sedentary lifestyle, the minimum time between treatments should be three days. More regular sessions are unnecessary and may actually be detrimental to results.
Once the desired body shape has been reached, clients can move into a maintenance-only schedule. For most people, that should be around two to four times a month.
Who can use infrared heat?
Almost anyone can benefit from the Formostar system. Some health conditions, however, will preclude treatment. They include:
