How do you perform a sunless tan?

If you are starting out in the sunless tanning business, you’ll need to hone your technique with an airbrush, coloring and other elements of the professional repertoire. Airbrush tanning training is an essential part of this system. There are right ways and wrong ways to perform an airbrush sunless tanning procedure, but the focus needs to remain on the customer to get it right. Here are tips on how to successfully perform an airbrush tan.

  • Have the right spray tanning equipment . As with any trade, you can’t begin unless you have the proper tools. Some professionals insist you need both large and small spray guns. If you have both, you’ll be able to work in detail (using smaller guns) and save time (using larger ones). Of course, the product is equally as important as the equipment.

  • Establish a good rapport with the customer. Set the right tone by making them feel as comfortable as possible.

  • Use the best elements of your airbrush tanning training. During the certification process and time spent learning the ropes, you’ll have honed your craft and figured out the best practices for an airbrush tan. Start with exfoliation. Once it is time to spray, airbrush in smooth waves, keeping the gun about 6-8 inches from the body.

  • • Connect every body part, including the face. When you are dealing with spray tan equipment, you have to airbrush evenly and consider safety first. When spraying your clients face, Ask your client to hold his or her breath for ten seconds. Be careful not to waste time. Cover the area around the eyes and nose quickly with smooth even strokes.
